I Long to See the Stars

I long to see the stars. Not as viewing them from the surface of our Earth, But from among them. I dream of passing by planets, Dancing around the nebulae, Slipping by the Sun. I close my eyes and see the galaxy, Waving as I float by. In my mind I picture another, What the planets it holds may be, Its' stars, its' life, what I may find, Sneaking a glance as I pass through. I long to see the stars, But until I do, I shall gaze at their beauty And wonder if I should ever see the rest.

Through mistakes and triumphs, she rejoiced with the group And cried when she suffered a death in the troop. The girl without fear watched the plot unfold Sipping her tea which had now gone cold. What is poetry? To me, poetry is the words in my head All the ideas and thoughts I can't get out fast enough. It's the chaos these thoughts create When I string them together with words That do not properly describe the feeling That I am trying to convey, All the words in the English language Can not accurately portray The feeling of a poem in my head. A poem, a poem is chaos and safety Rolled into one and covered in peace. A poem is me scribbled in flowery prose A song awaiting the melody of meaning Words written in a tiny notebook, too fast, too messy to read And wondering if those words will be enough to clear my mind. One thing I've learned is that death is inevitable. It's something I wish I hadn't learned this soon, that I haven't been desensitized to as long as I have. My great grandma died a few days ago. I walk down the gravel road, among the darkness and cold. It's early in the morning, too early for most people to be up. After all, who wants to be outside at 6 AM in early fall? It's cold, the wind biting my face, ears, and hands as I walk, glancing behind me sometimes. I can never tell what could be lurking in the darkness, after all. A hand caught his wrist and yanked him back, hard. "Leo- don't." He turned away to glance up the street again at the fire. It was a school, and there were definitely still people inside if the panic on the street was any indication. He couldn't just stand around. Pivoting, he yanked his arm fluidly out of Jason's grip and stepped away. "I'm sorry," he said, and turned in a run toward sirens. He heard Piper cry out shrilly and Jason scramble after him but he wasn't worried they'd catch up. He was good at running. He yanked his hood up and for once he was thankful most of his clothes were too big because it fell over his eyes pretty well.

A Realization

I was listening to David Bowie today (Magic Dance, it's one of my favorites), and came across a realization. I should have been way more scared of those muppet-type things that portrayed the goblins in the David Bowie movie "The Labyrinth" than I actually was.  Those things were kinda creepy, if I'm honest with myself. But I wasn't scared of them..... Hmmm, maybe I was just paying more attention to the music......

On I Am Number Four and sequals. (Also Kimblee)

    You know, sometimes I feel like I'm "late to the party", so to speak. Like, for instance, a couple days ago, I watched I Am Number Four for the first time. It came out in I think 2011. Now that's late to the party, I mean, it's 2015 now. Anyway, what I really wanted to say, is that it was a great movie that needs a sequal, seeing as it was based on the first book of the Lorien Legacies series. However, though it had plans for a sequal, those plans were shelved because it didn't make over $100,000,000. And no, that isn't 1 too many 0s.
